Sunday is the annual Corso Fleuri, or Flower Parade.
Interestingly, or perhaps not, the word Corso comes from the Italian Corsi, and means the place where the parade takes place – the course.

The flowers are typically predominantly yellow, from the Mimosa for which the region is famous.
But this year the event falls on February 14th, so there is a lot of romantic red in evidence, with roses, tulips and a profusion of carnations providing wonderful contrast.
The floats are created by local groups, the lifeguards, the businessmen’s association, the Tragos Theatre Company, and suchlike.

Delighted children, and adults, are given armfuls of joy to take home.
