Marathon 2018
let’s do the Marathon, says Emmy
AnElephant just about has a fit
you think that it’s fun
to go for a ridiculously long and potentially fatally exhausting 42.2 kilometre run
no silly, let’s write about it
So next week sees the inaugural Marathon of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, a major event for our thriving area.
There is, as the title suggests, a full length marathon race, all 26 miles (42 kilometres) plus change.
This features a field of internationally renowned competitors along what is perhaps the most beautiful route in world running.
The main race starts in St Maxime and ends right here in our very own Cavalaire sur Mer, passing through Grimaud, Cogolin, Gassin, Saint-Tropez, Ramatuelle, and La Croix-Valmer.
There is an array of subsidiary events, including two half-marathons, a series of Relays, a Breakfast Run, and various hikes and family walks.
More news next week.
Maybe we can still be persuaded to take part!
I’m looking for my sneakers… I know I have a pair somewhere… Maybe the dog ate them?
